How does a water distiller work?
With one click of a button, ViaFosa’s water distillers heat up your tap water, causing it vaporise into sterilised steam clouds before condensing back into a liquid state in our unbreakable polycarbonate jug. Through the process of distillation, all pollutants, bacteria, viruses, inorganic chemicals and toxins are completely extracted from your tap water. So you can rest assured that you’re drinking the best water for your body, exactly as nature intended.
One click is all it takes. Our stainless steel water filters are thermostatically controlled and will automatically switch off at the end of each distillation phase. Cleaning your ViaFosa water distiller is also incredibly easy. No more having to replace worn-out filter cartridges! With the polycarbonate jug, you’ll also never have to worry about breaking your jug. Designed and built to be durable and reliable, our unbreakable polycarbonate jug is almost indestructible.
The purpose of the filter is to absorb any Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) that may be present in the air of your home, eg. aerosol sprays, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, paints, air fresheners etc.
We say the filters are not necessary because whilst we promote the distillers for chemical/pollutant free water, we also encourage our customers to observe the quality of the air in the home. For example, air fresheners are chemically loaded and contain nerve-deadening chemicals that coat your nasal passages and temporarily block your sense of smell, (this comes from a report from National Geographic’s ‘The Green Guide’.) Some of the most offensive ingredients, benzene and formaldehyde can cause headaches and nausea and aggravate asthma and have been linked to neurological damage and cancer. Most cleaning products are chemically laden, so we clean up our water but are unknowingly subjecting ourselves to all these other chemicals.Supermarkets now sell all-natural cleaning products and air-fresheners which are chemical free.
So, what we are trying to do at ViaFosa is make aware that removing chemicals from tap water is just a start and more can be done to remove chemicals from the air.
The distiller comes with a pre-inserted filter for those who may find it necessary. If used replace every three months, if left indefinitely this could cause bacteria to build up and filtrate into the clean distilled water.
